A planning application has been submitted to turn the site of a former care home into housing.
The Margaret House residential home in Abbots Langley is currently vacant, with the county council's development company, Herts Living, wanting to transform it into 17 flats and 10 houses.
The care home closed in June 2020 and the local authority has been looking at ways to redevelop it.
If approved by Three Rivers District Council, it will also include 48 car spaces, 32 more than there are now, as well as the houses all having their own gardens and the apartments sharing outdoor spaces.
There was a planning consultation in December 2022 to help influence the decisions made about the developments, according to consultation company Vincent + Gorbing.

The care home is located on Parsonage Close, away from public roads, which means the disruption the building work would cause is a minimum, according to the application.
The houses will be either two or three-bedroom buildings, with the flats being either one or two bedrooms.
