Motorists have been warned to “expect delays” after multi-way signals were installed.
Cadent Gas is carrying out utility repair and maintenance works in Gallows Hill, at the junction with Abbots Road, Abbots Langley today (September 7).
The 24/7 lights’ permit started from 9.17am and it remains to be seen what impact it will have on traffic during rush hour.
Hertfordshire County Council Highways asked motorists to “please expect delays” as the “urgent” maintenance work takes place.
According to One Network, delays are “likely” and the permit was given from this morning until the end of September 15.
The footway has not been closed.

Oxhey Road
A road closure that could also cause delays is scheduled for Monday (September 11) in Oxhey Road, near the junction with Laurel Close.
Between 9.30am and 2.45pm a temporary keep left sign is set to be replaced with a permanent lit bollard.
A diversion route will send motorists to Bushey Arches. Travelling east to west this would involve going onto Oxhey Avenue, Aldenham Road, Chalk Hill, the A4125, and then back onto Oxhey Road.
The works description adds that emergency access will be maintained at all times and the footway will not be closed.
