Rush hour traffic on the M1 is likely to be affected as there are currently delays due to a broken-down vehicle.

Lanes one and two of the M1 southbound are closed between junction eight for Hemel Hempstead and junction 6A for the M25 due to a broken-down tanker.

There are currently delays of at least 50 minutes as only two lanes are open, according to National Highways.

Google Maps is currently showing traffic as slow-moving, with likely delays and disruption to journeys.

Recovery is currently in attendance to help move the car and get the lanes reopened as soon as possible.

It is not known if police are in attendance or if anyone has been injured.
