A road has reopened after a pedestrian in her 60s was hit by a car.

The A4251/London Road was closed in Apsley this morning (December 11) after a blue Honda Civic and a pedestrian were involved in a crash in the road.

Herts Police were called to the scene, alongside the East of England Ambulance Service, at around 9.20am.

The force confirmed that a woman in her 60s (the pedestrian) was injured but said she was being assessed and it was not initially thought to be serious.

The Watford Observer has contacted the ambulance service for updated information on her injuries and treatment. Update to follow.

Police arranged recovery for the Honda Civic and the closed stretch of road, from the roundabout by Sainsbury's to the junction with Kents Avenue, was reopened by 12pm.

While the road closure was in place, locals reported seeing multiple emergency vehicles and motorists were advised to avoid the area.
