The number of planned roadworks is decreasing as Christmas approaches but there are some works due to be carried out that may affect your journeys over the next couple of weeks.

Drivers may encounter delays due to ongoing works in Vicarage Road, Watford, while an application has also been made to close a lane in Watford Road during the last weekend before Christmas.

The following information is sourced from the One.Network website and is a selection of the works due to take place over the next two weeks.

- Motorists are likely to experience delays due to ongoing works by Cadent in Vicarage Road, Watford. These are due to last until Thursday, December 21 and two-way traffic lights are in use.

- Delays are possible in Sussex Road, Watford, from today (Friday) until Tuesday due to micro surfacing aftercare works. These will be carried out under stop and go signs from 7.30am to 6pm daily.

- Micro surfacing aftercare works are also being carried out from today until Thursday in Chilcott Road, Watford. These are due to be carried out from 9.30am to 4pm under stop and go signs.

- There is set to be an overnight lane closure in London Road, Rickmansworth, on Tuesday and Wednesday for works by Thames Water. The closure is due to be in place from 10pm to 5.30am.

- Gullies are due to be cleared in Links Way, Croxley Green, between 9.30am and 3.30pm on Thursday, December 21 and Friday, December 22. This is to help clear carriageway flooding.

- An application has been made by UK Power Networks to close a lane in Watford Road, Watford, on Saturday, December 23 and Sunday, December 24 to install a new power connection. The work, if it goes ahead, is due to be carried out between 8am and 6pm and will take place close to the junction with the Harvester roundabout.
