As punters headed out to celebrate New Year’s Eve, Watford General Hospital welcomed in 2024 with 12 New Year babies.
Six families welcomed new family members before midnight and another six rang in the new year with newborns on January 1.
Mitra Bakhtiari, midwifery director, said: "Thank you to everyone who made the start of 2024 a special one for so many families.
“Our maternity team work hard all year round to ensure our babies and their families receive the best possible care, and the New Year is no different.
“Congratulations to all the families ringing in the New Year with a new addition to their family.”
Baby girl Stefania Amariei was born to Watford-based parents at 9.45am on New Year’s Eve, weighing 3240g.

Baby boy Willson followed not long afterwards at 1.39pm and weighing 3665g
Baby girl Gopal was also born to Watford-based parents on December 31 at 9.59pm and weighing 2159g.
Baby girl Nadarajah was one of the first babies to arrive in the new year as she was born at 5.57am, weighing 3300g.
