Locals have seen the funny side after a speed camera was twisted round — but the council has warned the public will pick up the bill.
The camera outside Croxley Green Scout Group and the Royal British Legion club, in Watford Road, is currently twisted away from the road so that it faces into the British Legion’s drive.
Sharing a picture online yesterday (January 24), one local offered a tongue-in-cheek warning that motorists should be careful not to break the speed limit coming out of the club, as “they’re on it”.
The post attracted more than 150 reactions, mostly laughs, as locals joked about vandals’ potential motives and who the new angle might catch.

Today, Hertfordshire County Council confirmed that it was aware of the damage and will be repairing the camera.
A council spokesperson said: “We are aware that this camera has been twisted round and we are awaiting a quote for its repair.
“Unfortunately, damage such as this costs the public money to fix and we’d encourage anyone who witnesses any vandalism to report it to the police.”
