Police investigating a crash that injured two have released a man they had arrested after the smash.

Alongside the fire and ambulance services, officers were called to Watford Road, Croxley Green, at around 6.10pm yesterday (January 28) with reports of a multi-vehicle crash.

Two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Herts Police confirmed that a 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving over the prescribed limit, however he was later released with no further action.

The three vehicles involved were a red Vauxhall Astra, a red Ford Fiesta, and a black Honda Civic. Road closures were removed by 7pm.

While the road was shut, motorists were advised to seek alternate routes. Herts Police later tweeted: "Thank you for your patience whilst we dealt with the incident."

Driving over the prescribed limit refers to being in charge of a vehicle after consuming a specified amount of alcohol.
