Patients heading to an appointment at Watford General Hospital will need to use a different entrance.

West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust shared a short message to let people know about access changes for the outpatients department.

Previously, people could head to the there from inside the hospital, via the main reception, but this has been closed due to building work.

Instead they will need to enter via a new dedicated entrance on the left before the entrance to the main building’s ground floor, when coming from the car park, or on the right after the entrance if coming Vicarage Road.

There is a ramp for wheelchair access as well as steps leading to the entrance.

The outpatients department is for anyone with a general appointment which does not require the patient to stay at the hospital overnight.

The multi-storey-car-park at Watford General Hospital is accessed via Thomas Sawyer Way.
