A person has been taken to hospital after a van fire which closed a motorway near Watford and St Albans.
The anticlockwise M25 was shut for more than an hour and a half this morning (December 30) after the Luton van caught light between junctions 22 and 21a.
Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service was contacted at 8.32am and sent three engines to the scene, from Garston and St Albans.
The East of England Ambulance Service was then called out by firefighters and one person, who had not been trapped in the vehicle, was taken to hospital due to suffering difficulty breathing.

Traffic built until stretching back to around South Mimms, while the crews worked to put the fire out.
The fire was extinguished shortly after 10am and two lanes reopened at that point. Lanes one and two were then reopened at around 10.45am
The ambulance service has been contacted for more information. Update to follow.
