Andy Kyriacou believes Eddie Jones and his new-look coaching team are developing a “new air of professionalism” at Saracens.
While previous director of rugby Alan Gaffney chiefly worked alongside two coaches in Adrian Kennedy and Richard Graham during his two-year reign, Jones’ backroom staff includes former back rows Paul Gustard and Alex Sanderson and part-time prop Cobus Visagie, while Graham has been promoted to coaching co-ordinator.
And hooker Kyriacou, who is recovering well from a knee injury sustained in a freak training ground accident, believes the increase in coaching staff will benefit the squad.
“There is going to be a whole new air of professionalism about the place,” said the 25-year-old. “There is a lot more coaching staff this time and that will allow them to work with smaller groups of players and work more in-depth with us. It can only help our development.”
