Richard Haughton makes his first start of the season tonight when Saracens travel to face Sale Sharks.

The speedy full-back is one of five changes to the side from Saturday's opening Guinness Premiership defeat to Harlequins. Haughton is fit to start in place of Dan Scarbrough after recovering from a hip injury. Dave Seymour suffered knee ligament damage during the match at Twickenham and he has been ruled out for up to eight weeks. He is joined on the sidelines by Francisco Leonelli who has a rib problem. England Under-20 international Andy Saull comes in for Seymour while Rod Penney earns a start on the wing. Fabio Ongaro and Matias Ageuro come into the front row in place of Matt Cairns and Nick Lloyd after impressing as replacements at the weekend.

Eddie Jones believes it is an opportunity for some players to make their mark and is pleased to be able welcome back Haughton into the side.

The director of rugby said: "We've made a few changes and this is a good opportunity for the guys coming into the side.

"Injuries have forced us into bringing in a couple of new faces and we've also decided to give Fabio Ongaro and Matias Aguero a run out. Both impressed in pre-season matches - especially against Toulon - and they showed up well then they came on against Quins last week so they deserve a chance.

"It's also good to have Richard Haughton back in the side. He had a very good season last year and proved himself to be one of the top performers in the competition and we're looking for him to continue that this season."

The Men in Black face a tough task at Edgeley Park tonight as they look to get their first win of the season. Sale have strengthened their squad over the summer with the signings of Scarlets scrum-half Dwayne Peel and Newcastle's exciting full-back Matthew Tait. They got off to a winning start at Newcastle last weekend and are expected to contend for a top-four spot in the Premiership this year.

Jones said: "Sale are a very good side that can hurt you from all areas of the pitch. We've worked hard in training this week to learn the lessons from the weekend and the guys are really looking forward to the game. We learned a lot about ourselves on Saturday but we are moving forward as a team and I expect to see more improvements against Sale."
