AN aspiring television presenter will be canvassing for votes as she aims to become FHM magazine’s High Street Honey 2009.

Tania Willis, 18, from Bateman Road, Croxley Green, was placed in the top 100 from 13,892 entries and is featured in this month’s issue.

The student now plans to hit the high street in search of votes, with an eye on the £10,000 first prize and a television contract.

Tania, a former Rickmansworth School pupil who is now studying Multimedia Journalism in her first year at Bournemouth University, was entered into the competition by her boyfriend, Daniel Sirah, 20.

In September, Tania received a call to say the magazine liked her picture and asked her to visit them, where they took more photos and filmed her pretending to present a music channel.

She said: “Two weeks ago I just got a letter saying I was going to be in the magazine. I was shocked. I didn’t even think I would be in the top 100. My friends find it hilarious.”

Tania must now receive more votes than 90 other “Honeys” to reach the top ten, and feature in a further photoshoot in the magazine.

And the former lifeguard at Riverside Esporta in Northwood hopes her personality, as well as her looks, will be enough for her to reach the final.
