Video footage has been received of the devastating fire which gutted the UK and Ireland Headquarters of the Seventh-day Adventist Church yesterday afternoon.
Emergency services rushed to the building, in St Albans Road, at around 2.10pm yesterday afternoon after fire broke out in the roof.
Cameraman Paul Day was one of many witnesses to contact the Watford Observer. He said: “I heard a noise like thunder as part of the roof collapsed. It was terrible. Flames were coming up really high from the roof”
The building, which has stood for nearly 50 years, was partially destroyed in the blaze – with up-to three quarters of it in ruins.
