Residents worried about falling victim to burglars are being offered a free security check by police.
Officers, working in conjunction with the district council and charity West Herts Against Crime, are offering the checks on windows and doors during National Maintenance Week, which runs until Friday.
Councillor Roger Seabourne, chairman of Three Rivers Community Safety Partnership, said: “This is an excellent free service so do use it.
“Residents can have security devices installed for free, as well as door and window locks, chains and spy holes. The group can also make sheds and garages more secure.
