Watford college campus housing plans 'inappropriate'

Plans to build 235 new homes on a disused college campus in Watford have been recommended for refusal by planning officers.

George Wimpey North Thames have applied to build 22 one-bedroom and 89 two-bedroom flats, one three-bedroom flat, and 56 three-bedroom and 67 four-bedroom houses, alongside a neighbourhood centre on the site of the former West Herts College Leggatts campus, in Leggatts Way.

However, the proposed development “is considered to fall well short of the standard required”, due to its inappropriate scale and layout, said the planning report by Watford Borough Council.

The council's Development Control Committee will vote on whether to grant planning permission for the project at its meeting next Tuesday, December 9. The meeting begins at 7.30pm at the Town Hall.

So it is "considered to fall well short of the standard required” we all know it will happen, no matter what objections there are, take one flat off, add another parking space, grease the wheels of industry, it is just the council going through the motions to hook-wink us in to believing they are doing something, but they are only justifying their own positions and jobs. There will be meeting after meeting and permission will be given. I would eat my hat if this does not happen.

Take a look at the absolute monster going up on the corner of Clarenden Road and Beechen Grove and then tell us that this council doesn't "just go through the motions" - the emperor has no clothes - btw did she join in with the swimming fest?
