Plans to build 235 new homes on a disused college campus in Watford have been recommended for refusal by planning officers.
George Wimpey North Thames have applied to build 22 one-bedroom and 89 two-bedroom flats, one three-bedroom flat, and 56 three-bedroom and 67 four-bedroom houses, alongside a neighbourhood centre on the site of the former West Herts College Leggatts campus, in Leggatts Way.
However, the proposed development “is considered to fall well short of the standard required”, due to its inappropriate scale and layout, said the planning report by Watford Borough Council.
The council's Development Control Committee will vote on whether to grant planning permission for the project at its meeting next Tuesday, December 9. The meeting begins at 7.30pm at the Town Hall.
