A DISTRAUGHT pet owner talked this week of his heartache at losing a cockatoo which lived with his family for 30 years.
Kiki, a sulphur crested cockatoo escaped from his home in Bushey Mill Lane, Watford, last Thursday and has not been seen since.
Despite placing several posters around the area describing the bird and offering a reward, the owner Mr Kelvin Pettifer, 65, believes that he will not see his beloved pet again.
He said: "I think he has just moved a bit far now. He is either dead or he has gone some distance. It's heartbreaking. He was more than just a pet – he was a much loved member of the family."
If anyone finds Kiki or thinks they have seen the bird, you can telephone Mr Pettifer on 01923 464608 or 07903 590001.
