RAMBLERS are hoping that a public inquiry will end confrontations over a disputed footpath in Letchmore Heath by confirming that everyone can use it.
Disagreement has raged for five years about the legal status of the path, which crosses the back gardens of two properties near the allotments in Common Lane, Letchmore Heath, but is used by many as a countryside walking route.
A spokesman for Hertfordshire County Council said: "The public inquiry gives people the chance to listen to what is said and give any evidence to the inspector." The inquiry will be held at Letchmore Village Hall in Grange Lane, Letchmore Heath, starting at 10am on Wednesday.
