Leigh Bromby has returned to his former club Sheffield United on loan until the end of the season, when he is expected to make the switch permanent.
The 28-year-old moved to Vicarage Road a year ago this month for an initial fee of £600,000, which could have risen to £850,000.
The defender has made 46 appearances for the Golden Boys but has not started since the 4-2 defeat at the hands of Bristol City on Boxing Day.
The two clubs have already agreed a fee for the player, although it will not be disclosed.
