MEMBERS of Bushey and Watford Phab enjoyed a weekend of challenging activities at the organisation's Festival 2003 camp on Mersea Island in Essex at the weekend.
The club aims to integrate able bodied and disabled members of the community by means of shared social activities and events.
The weekend also marked the 30th anniversary of the Bushey and Watford Club.
Eleven members of the local club (four wheelchair users, two ambulant disabled and five able bodied people) joined up with 350 others people at the festivals to try a variety of challenging activities, including archery, water sports, paintballing, circus workshops, t'ai chi and art classes.
One of the most exhilarating activities for the festival goers was the wall climb where even the wheelchair users were encouraged and helped by instructors to make an ascent of the wall and then returned to earth somewhat quicker with the help of a 50ft zip line.
