PAEDOPHILE Trevor Brooks was jailed for life after he was convicted of raping two young sisters.

Brooks befriended the girls' single mother after meeting her through a chatline dating agency.

Before long the 40 year old painter and decorator had wormed his way into the woman's affection and in to her home in Watford. He was a regular visitor to the house running errands for the mum and collecting her shopping.

But all the time he was secretly abusing her two daughters aged 10 and 13 and making them stay silent by threatening to harm their pets.

Brooks appeared for sentence on Friday at Basildon Crown Court, having been found guilty by a jury earlier this year of three counts of rape and an offence of indency with a child. The offences concerned the two young sisters.

In addition to the jail sentence, Brooks' name will be added to the Sex Offenders' Register where it will remain for the rest of his life.

The judge also made an order that he should not work with children in the future.
