Staff and students at Aldenham School are celebrating as the school and its prep school were praised by government inspectors.

The Independent Schools Inspectorate praised the historic senior school for providing “a very effective educational experience at each phase of their school life” praising teachers' work in making pupils reach their full potential.

The inspectors praised the work that goes into planning lessons in the prep school and the use of external facilities in areas such as art, physical education and music.

The Head of the Prep School, Mr Jason Whiskerd said: “Parents and pupils should be very happy to know that children here are receiving the best possible start to developing their abilities and talents over a wide spectrum.”

Mr James Fowler, Headmaster at Aldenham added: “Following two earlier ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted Inspections in 2008, one for Boarding and one for all areas of education in the Foundation Stage, I am delighted that this excellent ISI report confirms that the School has made significant progress since the last Inspection in 2002.

“It is very reassuring that the Inspection found that the committed and supportive teaching at Aldenham is of high quality which encourages pupils to develop all their talents and abilities to the full.  The inspectors understood and warmly supported the ethos and approach of the School.”
