A large water leak in Bushey has been running for six weeks, a situation a resident has described as “ridiculous” considering the economic climate and looming price rises.
The leak, flowing from Herkomer Road to Clapgate Road and Herne Road, has been reported to Three Valleys Water staff, but David Gascoigne, of Herkomer Road, claims it was not labelled a priority.
He said: “If this is not a priority, my God - I wonder what other kinds of leaks they have got to deal with.
“They keep threatening that prices will go up on everything including water and they are losing litres of water every hour. A six-week leak is ridiculous.”
Three Valleys Water representative Sue Pavey said: “Three Valleys Water would like to apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused by a leak at the junction of Herne Road and Herkomer Road, Bushey.”
She added that the leak was scheduled to be repaired this Friday (April 3).
Any one who has seen a water leak has also been asked to telephone a special leakspotters hotline on 0800 376 5325.
