The manager of a town centre fast food restaurant has been exposed as an illegal immigrant.

Ghazala Butt, 31, was detained earlier this month when officers from UK Border Agency raided the Burger King restaurant in Charter Place.

The Pakistani national was later arrested when three allegedly fake passports and ID documents were found in her house.

She has been bailed by magistrates to appear at St Albans Crown Court on June 15.

Burger King, her employer, may now face a fine of up to £10,000 for employing an illegal worker.

Anyone who suspects that illegal workers are being employed in Hertfordshire should contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
