A PARK in Bushey has picked up a prestigious award for the fifth year running.
King George Recreation Ground has been included in the list of winners for this year's Green Flag Award.
Councillor Morris Bright, portfolio holder with responsibility for Hertsmere's parks, said: "This award is recognition of all the hard work that goes into maintaining the exceptionally high standards of Hertsmere's parks and open spaces.
"I would like to congratulate all those associated with King George Recreation Ground on this superb achievement, particularly the Friends group."
The Green Flag Award is a national standard for parks and green spaces and King George Ground is one of only three parks in Hertfordshire to achieve that standard.
There are eight criteria which Green Flag Award judges assess: - a welcoming place; healthy, safe and secure; well maintained and clean; sustainability; conservation and heritage; community involvement; marketing; and management.
The scheme recognises the value of green spaces in communities, particularly urban environments, and rewards excellent standards of park management.
