The candidates standing for election to Hertfordshire County Council, to represent the six divisions of Watford, have been revealed.

In Nascot Park, Sally Ivins (Green Party), Malcolm Meerabux (Conservatives), Mohammed Riaz (Labour) and Mark Watkin (Liberal Democrats) will battle for the seat vacated by council leader Robert Gordon, who will stand for re-election near Broxbourne.

Nigel Bell (Labour) is seeking re-election in Vicarage Holywell ward, but faces competition from Dave Ealey (Conservatives), Susan Gaszczak (Liberal Democrats) and Doug Lawson (Green Party).

In the Central Oxhey division, incumbent Stephen Giles-Medhurst (Liberal Democrats) will be on the ballot paper alongside Ann Akubue (Labour), Alex MacGregor Mason (Green Party) and Sarah Son (Conservatives).

Meriden Tudor sees Danny Seabrook as the only BNP member standing in a Watford division. He will stand against Joanna Grindrod (Labour), current county councillor Audrey Oaten (Liberal Democrats), Richard Southern (Conservatives) and Helen Wynne (Green).

Liberal Democrat Derek Scudder seeks re-election in Woodside Stanborough against Jonathan Cordell (Conservatives), Iain Wadey (Green Party) and John Young (Labour).

Finally, Callowland Leggatts will see voters choose between Zaheer Ahmed (Liberal Democrats), Ian Brandon (Green Party), Amanda Grimston (Conservatives) and Omar Ismail (Labour) to take the seat vacated by Green Party councillor Steve Rackett.

The elections will take place on Thursday, June 4.
