What happens when five college tutors put their minds to the test against some of the biggest brains in Britain?
Fans of the BBC2 programme Eggheads will have to tune in to Monday's episode, to find out how a team from West Herts College fared against five quiz champions, whose claims include winning Mastermind, Who Wants to be a Millionaire? and The Weakest Link.
The self-named Late at Half Past Eight team from the college will be made up of tutors Geoff Nicholson, Peter Harris, Russell Preston, Rob Fletcher, and registry co-ordinator Anne Waring. Another tutor, David Opperman, acted as a reserve.
Rob said: “The name stems from our Wednesday morning team meetings, which are meant to start at 8.30am, but one or two usual suspects are always late.”
Following the auditions, the team travelled to BBC Television Centre late last year for the recording of the show.
And viewers can see them pit their wits against Eggheads Judith Keppel, Kevin Ashman, CJ de Mooi, Chris Hughes, and Barry Simmons, during the contest hosted by Dermot Murnaghan.
Can the team beat the Eggheads? Find out at 6pm on Monday, May 18.
