THE next village hall function is going to be a jumble sale on Saturday, September 22, followed by a barn dance in the evening.
ALL the proceeds from the village quiz run by the WI will go towards the Village Hall Funds. To enter, you need teams of four at £1 per person, and have the date, Wednesday, October 17 at 7.30pm in your diary.
SHOW secretary, Sid Saunders has given loyal service to the Horticultural Society, but he is now retiring from the post. A new show organiser is therefore required. Would any keen volunteers please phone 01844 343537 to organise next year's show. Sid will give advice to help if necessary.
LACEY Green Parish Council have made some progress in their request for traffic speed restriction as Bucks County Council has acknowledged that a 30mph speed limit for almost the whole of Loosley Row Village would be appropriate. Main Road, Lacey Green would probably see no change, but the 40mph limit will likely be extended down Woodway and along Pink Road. Like Naphill, where many drivers were caught in speed traps recently, Lacey Green has speed problems.
THE bus shelters in the village have again been burned down this week. Since it takes the parish council ages to finance them, most people do not take kindly to this action, especially as they were also burned in July. It is often the elderly who have to wait for buses, and it is not much fun to do that when there is no shelter and it is pouring with rain.
