A new Liberal Democrat councillor has been elected to Abbots Langley Parish Council following yesterday's by-election.
Jeff Hill has taken the Leavesden ward seat previously occupied by fellow Liberal Democrat Sue Bartrick, who stood down in April due to illness.
Councillor Hill received 865 votes against 362 for Conservative Chris Hawes. Marie-Louise Straub Nolan (Labour) collected 127 votes.
There was a 33.4 per cent turnout.
