Two employees from Homebase in Watford took on a challenge of a lifetime by cycling in the London to Brighton Bike Ride.
Jon Henley and Charles Lewin both cycled the 54 mile course last month in aid of the British Heart Foundation (BHF).
They raised £3,000 to help the charity beat heart and circulatory disease – the UK’s biggest killer.
Jon said: “Most of us have been affected by heart disease, either directly or indirectly, and so we recognise the importance of doing our bit to help the BHF save more lives.”
The bike ride was one of several staff fundraising activities taking place throughout the 1,000-plus Homebase and Argos stores across the country who are working together to raise £2 million over the next 13 months for the BHF.
To date, staff and customer efforts have so far raised more than £1.3million.
