A police summer ball, hosted by the county's chief constable, has raised nearly £3,000 for two Hertfordshire charities.
Chief Constable Frank Whiteley presented two cheques of £1400 to representatives from the Stevenage Community Trust and Herts in Trust this week.
The money was raised from a raffle, auction, donations and ticket profits, following the lavish event held on Sunday, June 13 at the Beales Hotel in Hatfield. Police officers, staff, family and friends, helped raise the funds while enjoying a three course meal and dancing the night away to a live band.
Chief Constable Frank Whiteley said: “I am delighted we have been able to award these two worthy charities with funds, especially after such a fantastic event.
“The Stevenage Community Trust and Herts in Trust are helping to secure safety, justice, and reassurance for all by funding life changing projects, events and helping people who are in need.
“With the money raised from the Ball, we have been able to help them continue their valuable work in providing for our communities.”
