An Abbots Langley girl’s dream came true when she was treated to a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet her idols Take That.

Six-year-old Sian Moorcroft, who has Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), was granted her greatest wish of meeting her favourite boy band by children’s charity Rays of Sunshine.

The brave youngster had only undergone spinal surgery two weeks ago but knowing she was meeting the pop sensations had speeded up her recovery.

The charity arranged for Sian, mum Emma and dad Craig to travel down to Wembley Stadium where they joined 78,000 fans to enjoy the band’s circus themed concert.

Emma said: “Sian has always wanted to go to a live concert and is mad about Take That. The concert was fantastic. She loved the elephant that came on stage.

“She got spoilt rotten. We didn’t realise that we had been seated in the royal box until we looked around and we were surrounded by celebrities.”

After the show, Sian was taken to meet the stars where she was able to give them a drawing she had made.

Emma added: “The boys were really down to earth and smiley. They chatted to us for ages and Howard was really smitten with her.

“We have always said we would have to take her to see them in concert, but didn’t think we could manage the crowds. On Sunday everything was arranged for us. There was no fussing and we were well looked after.

“Sian wants to say a big thank to Rays of Sunshine. It is fantastic that her dream came true as I know she would love to say that she has done what all her friends do and more!"

Little Sian had always wanted to meet the artists who wrote a favourite song ‘Rule the World’ and Rays of Sunshine made it happen.

The charity was set up to make wishes come true for children with serious and life-limiting conditions aged between three and18.
