Youngsters will find a new climbing frame in their primary school playground next term, following the “spectacular” success of their summer fair.
Visitors to the annual event at The Orchard Primary School, in Gammons Lane, had their faces painted and took a turn on the tombola.
Former X Factor contestant Amy Connolly was also on hand to sing to the crowds.
The fair raised £2,200, which will be used to buy a climbing frame for the school's four and five year olds.
The new equipment will be installed during the first week of the summer holidays, ready for when pupils return to class in September.
Headteacher Paul Sutton said: “It was absolutely fantastic. It was very well attended. It's the highest amount of money we've ever raised at a fair.
“We're very pleased and it was great to have Amy there.”
