A former SAS officer will entertain an audience at Watford Grammar School for Boys with tales from his explorations of the Arctic and Antarctic.
Oliver Shepard is best known for his part in the Transglobe expedition and has also crossed the Sahara desert, northern India and the Middle East.
He will be speaking at the Rickmansworth Road school at an event to raise money for the Armed Forces charity Help for Heroes, on Tuesday, July 21.
The charity is also set to benefit from donations collected by three men - Barry Rennick, Amar Chundavadra and Gavin Truslove – who are set to complete the Three Peaks challenge next month.
