A campaign to keep children away from some of the dangers linked with surfing the Internet has been backed by Watford MP Claire Ward.
The communications regulator Ofcom will promote advice aimed at helping parents and carers improve child safety online during the summer holidays.
Mrs Ward said: “The Internet offers a lot of opportunities for fun, learning and development at the click of a mouse, but it is important parents, and carers, have the right skills and information to keep them safe online.
“Knowing how to help keeps kids safe online is a way parents can take control and have peace of mind.”
Some tips from Ofcom include installing filtering softwares to restrict access to inappropriate sites and ensure children do not share their personal details online.
