Preparations from next year's general election are already underway in Watford, despite the fact the Government is yet to set a date.

Town Hall staff will be delivering forms to households across the borough in the coming weeks to compile a new electoral register for next year’s elections.

The general election, which has to be called before June next year, will also include the mayoral and borough council elections.

Watford Borough Council’s electoral services manager, Gordon Amos, said: “It’s simple to register, all you have to do is complete the annual canvass form that will be coming through your letter box over the coming weeks, and you’ll be able to help choose the people that make the decisions which affect your everyday life.”
