With leading goalscorer Tommy Smith expected to depart in the near future and transfer target Paul Gallagher moving to Leicester City, could this see the return of Grzegorz Rasiak.

It seems only a matter of time until Smith leaves, with Portsmouth the latest club to be linked with a move for the forward, so Watford have been actively looking for a replacement.

It was hoped some sort of swap deal between former Blackburn Rovers' forward Gallagher and Nathan Ellington could have been agreed but the 25-year-old has today completed a move to the Walkers Stadium.

Each of the big Premier League clubs have young strikers in need of experience but most are untried at the Championship level so will the Watford hierarchy opts for a more older and familiar face.

Rasiak spent a successful loan spell at Vicarage Road last season, scoring ten goals in 25 appearances, and the Hornets former manager Brendan Rodgers was keen on capturing the Poland international on a permanent basis.

The 30-year-old was willing to take a 15 per cent pay cut to make the move happen but the striker was still too expensive for the club's new wage structure.

Southampton have confirmed Rasiak will leave but there has not been as much interest as expected, so will the striker lower his demands in order to secure a move back into the Championship with Watford?

Is Grzegorz Rasiak someone you would welcome back to the Vic and if so, then why?
