A travelling bible arrived in Watford yesterday morning as part of a world tour that has already seen the book stop off in 92 different countries.

The travelling bible was flown in from Dublin on Monday morning and arrived at Stanborough Primary School, in north Watford, in time for a special assembly. There, pupils read sections of the special bible, which has been written in 66 different languages.

Dressed in national costumes, 18 pupils from different countries then read passages in Chinese, Persian, Portuguese, Swahili and even English.

The whistle-stop tour began in the Philippines and over two years the book will visit almost every country in the world, completing its journey in America in July.

The ‘Follow the Bible’ programme is a worldwide initiative of the Seventh-day Adventist Church to get church members “reconnected” with the bible.
