Young bikers from a north Watford motorcycle club received a special visit on Saturday when a world champion popped in to pass on some expert tips.
Two-time World Superbike Champion, Troy Corser, paid a visit to the Woodside Community Motorcycle Club, based in Garston, where he met members and answered questions about his career.
The motorbike legend visited the club’s current home, at Francis Combe Academy, where PC Kim Boot said the visit was “very special”.
PC Boot, who is chairman of the club, said: “I’d like to thank Mr Corser for taking the time to come and see us.
“The members were so excited to meet him and he was incredibly supportive of the club, encouraging them all to stay trouble-free and keep committed.”
However, PC Boot said the club is currently looking for vital investment before it has to move home.
He said: “We have to relocate next year due to our current base being re-developed.
“We are extremely grateful to those who have supported us so far, but if we don’t get sufficient funding, the club will not be able to continue and the local community will lose a valued and extremely beneficial project that has been running for the last fifteen years.”
If you can support the club contact PC Kim Boot on 01923 472035 or e-mail him at kim.boot@herts.pnn.police.uk.
