Sharifa Chaudry cooked some Asian snacks, as part of Adult Learner's Week in Watford.
A lesson in Asian cooking proved to be a recipe for success, during Adult Learners' Week in Watford.
Sharifa Chaudry, chairman of the Watford Muslim Women's Organisation (WMWO), was on hand to teach residents how to make Indian pakoras with potato and spinach.
And many of the key herbs used to make the fried snacks were taken from the garden belonging to the Multi Cultural Community Centre, in Durban Road West, where the session was held on Friday.
Mrs Chaudry said: “Cooking is a shared interest. It's about serving the community you belong to. When you are part of a community, food plays an important role. Food helps to bridge social barriers.”
The WMWO will host a learning fair, where residents can find information and advice about West Herts College, police recruitment, family learning, health awareness, domestic violence, and much more.
The fair takes place between 11am and 4pm on Thursday, October 29, at the Multi Cultural Community Centre.
