A new gallery in Kings Langley is to exhibit the largest collection of Timmy Mallett artworks in the country.

Montague’s Gallery, in High Street, Kings Langley, which opened this year, is backed by 30 years of fine art experience and offers expert advice on all art matters in a relaxed, yet friendly environment.

Timmy Mallett, who gained cult status on hit children’s television shows the Wide Awake Club and Wacaday, has gained further notoriety in recent years with his appearance on jungle-based reality series I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

However, aside from his wacky television persona, the 53-year-old is attracting attention in the art world with his accomplished selection of oils and acrylics.

Mr Mallett said: “I decided to exhibit my work at Montague’s Gallery as it’s a smart looking gallery with a fantastic atmosphere and really great staff.

“At a time when we’re all hit really hard by the recession, buying art can be a terrific investment for the future.

“I’m working on a number of pieces at the moment, all inspired by the beautiful autumn season and Montague’s will host a one-man show with my paintings early next year.”

Aside from Mr Mallett’s pieces, Montague’s Gallery is exhibiting work by several local artists, including a painting of renowned ballet dancer Darcey Bussell by Bovingdon painter Fletcher Sibthorp.

A private view of Montague’s latest work will be held on Tuesday, November 10.
