Police in Bushey are aiming to keep pubs and clubs in Bushey drug free this Christmas.
The mobile police station was set up in Bushey Country Club in order to advise people about the use of an ANPR (automatic number plate reader) and to demonstrate a new drug itemiser.
A small swab is wiped on the palm of a hand to pick up sweat and then inserted into the intemiser, which has a large screen displaying a list of drugs.
Cocaine, heroin and other substances can be detected even after 24 hours.
Sergeant Dave Simkin said: "We take it into pubs and clubs with the strict policy that if you don't take part in the test the you're not allowed in.
"We'll be doing that more and more in the run up to Christmas.”
