Explorer, mountaineer and adventurer Sir Ranulph Fiennes will address an audience in Rickmansworth tomorrow evening.

Sir Ranulph, who earlier this year became the oldest person to climb Mount Everest, will speak at the Royal Masonic School from 7.30pm.

He is the latest in a distinguished line of guest speakers – including Baroness Shirley Williams – to be tempted to the region by the ongoing Chorleywood Literary Festival.

Festival co-organiser Rosamund Greensted said: “This is the fourth year of the festival so we have been able to attract some really big names.

“We were pleased and delighted that Sir Ranulph agreed to come and give a talk.”

The week-long festival will conclude on Friday with a recording of Radio Four’s Any Questions? panel show, also at the Royal Masonic School, on Friday evening.

The programme, hosted by Jonathan Dimbleby, will be recorded from 6.45pm.
