A Bovingdon golf club destroyed by a massive fire earlier in the year is to be rebuilt.
The Little Hay Golf Club, in Box Lane, was gutted following a chip pan fire in April.
Although more than 70 of the county’s firefighters battled the blaze, they were unable to save the popular clubhouse from collapse.
At a meeting of the council’s development control committee on Thursday, councillors passed a planning proposal for the rebuild, instructing Dacorum Borough Council to replace the clubhouse.
The new single-storey building, to be paid for by the insurance company, will be almost identical in height and scale to the previous clubhouse and will include changing rooms, a bar and catering facilities, as well as staff areas.
