A teenager has been arrested after a man suffered minor injuries during an alleged racial attack in Watford town centre.

A man in his 30s from London, was on the top floor of the Charter Place car park where an “altercation” took place between him and another man at about 3.15pm on Sunday.

The victim was allegedly punched in the face and then subjected to racist remarks, police have said.

A 19-year-old man from Buckinghamshire has now been arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated assault and has been bailed by police until November 26.

Adam Johnson, a civilian police investigator, said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward.

“I would urge anyone who has any information at all in relation to this to contact police as a matter of urgency.”
