A pub in Kings Langley is taking part in a version of a popular television talent show in order to raise money for charity.

The Rose & Crown, in High Street, Kings Langley, is one of 13 Ember Inn pubs across the region involved in an X-Factor style competition, “The E Factor”, to find the region’s best entertainer and singing sensation.

Aiming to raise £8,000 in aid of The Foyer Federation, a charity which seeks to provide help and support to disadvantaged young people, the contest at the Rose & Crown will be held on Friday, November, 27.

Winners of The E Factor heats will receive £250, before going head-to-head at the final on December 5, at the King William IV pub in St Albans, where the overall winner will win a grand prize of £750 and crowned as The E Factor Superstar 2009.

Bernadette Breen, manager of the Rose & Crown, said: “We wanted to do something to try and raise money for charity.

“Our target is to raise £8,000 for The Foyer Federation to help provide support for the youth community on their journey to adulthood.

“We can’t wait to see the turn out and would urge any aspiring Leonas or Shane Wards out there to come along and try out for The E Factor.”
