The Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust has won an architectural award for the best mental health design of 2009.
The judges commended the way suggestions from service users had influenced the layout and facilities of Oak Unit and Beech Unit on the Harperbury site.
Tom Cahill, chief executive, said: “These two new units set a quality benchmark for future mental health care developments in Hertfordshire.”
The Building Better Healthcare award was presented by television presenter Hardeep Singh Kohli at an awards ceremony in the City of London on November 12.
