A quiz night held in honour of the chairman of Watford Borough Council raised £900.
Eighteen teams competed during the event held on Friday, October 16 at Watford Colosseum and the money will go towards Councillor Keith Crout's nominated charities the Alzheimer's Society and the Peace Hospice.
Councillor Crout told tonight's council meeting: "It was a terrific night."
