A 54-year-old man accused of slashing tyres and damaging the bodywork of numerous cars in and around Croxley Green over one night has had his case adjourned.

Michael Rumsey, of Owens Way, Croxley Green, appeared at St Albans Crown Court this morning facing 29 counts of causing criminal damage after cars parked in a number of streets were found vandalised on Saturday, May 23.

Rumsey’s defence asked for an adjournment before entering pleas, which raised no objection from the prosecution.

Judge Martin Griffith released Rumsey on unconditional bail to appear on Monday, January 18, when he is expected to admit or deny the allegations.

Most of the damaged cars were discovered in Croxley Green in Owens Way and Dulwich Way as well as Sherborne Way, Cherwell Close, Repton Way, Grove Crescent and Nightingale Road in Rickmansworth.
